90s FAVORITES, YEAR BY YEAR, RECORDED LIVE!

Zed’s dead, baby, but the Rad Carpet is live and loud!

There’s two plus hours of Carpet to unfurl here, recorded live in the show’s home turf on Staten Island, NY, where Thom, Whalen, and CJ5000 run through their favorite films of the first half of the 1990s, year by year, with help from extended Rad family members Matt Siblo and Justin Marino. Each Carpeteer picked a favorite and runner up for each year, so even with a few common picks, there’s a ton of movies to discuss, including classics like Goodfellas, Silence of the Lambs, Pulp Fiction, and Terminator 2, as well as a few unexpected oddball choices and sentimental faves. The fellas even finish the session with a big-picture discussion of trends in early 90s film, such as the decade’s sweet tooth for sequels and the birth of blockbuster culture. The guys are real loose and fired up on this one–pump up the volume and get rad!

We would love nothing more than to hear about your favorite 90s films. How does your list run down year by year? Any major omissions from the Carpet? Any so-called classics that you wish we swept aside? Any sleeper picks that you wish we discussed? Unfurl your takes in the comments section below, or his us up on Twitter (@theradcarpet) or via e-mail at theradcarpet@gmail.com.

We’ll be back (ahem) with the second installment of our 90s show sometime around Christmas. In the meantime, expect our second Clooney episode (covering Goodnight and Good Luck and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) to air shortly, and get ready to dive into the fantastical weirdness of Guillermo del Toro in December.

As always, thanks for listening, and stay rad!
