Episode 14 is live!

The Rad Carpet is back to brave the elements for its first of two episodes on the daredevil auteur Werner Herzog.

Thom, Whalen, and CJ5K slap on their conquistador duds for a reckoning with Herzog favorite Aguirre, The Wrath of God, before splitting takes on the director’s more subdued follow up, The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser. But first, your Rad Carpeteers square the circle of life with a Carpet Cleaning segment reappraising the 1994 Disney classic The Lion King. We just can’t wait to be rad!

Please give your takes on these films in the comment section below, on Twitter, and on our Facebook page. Does the Lion King hold up as a top tier Disney entry? Were you enamored with Aguirre? How much does the legend of the film’s arduous production factor into your appreciation? Is Kaspar Hauser revelatory poetic cinema or dull, cliched navel-gazing?

And do check out our newly revised viewing schedule for the remainder 2017–and the first months of 2018! We’ve got two more Herzog classics on the docket for next episode: 1979’s Nosferatu the Vampyre and 1982’s Fitzcaraldo.

If you’re looking for ways to contribute to the pod and help us continue to unfurl the Carpet with pride, head over to our pages on iTunes and Stitcher and throw us a rating and review–we’d really appreciate it.

Happy listening and happy viewing… stay rad!
