Episode 12 is live!

Do you need the new Rad Carpet as much as we need you to need the new Rad Carpet?

Thom, Whalen, and CJ5K are back to confide in one another over the films of Nicole Holofcener, starting with her 1996 debut film Walking and Talking and 2001’s Lovely and Amazing. The guys then break out the brushes for another installment of Carpet Cleaning, here rewatching and reassessing Bryan Singer’s out-of-nowhere hit The Usual Suspects.

What do you, our fellow Carpeteers, think of these Holofcener films? Which speaks to you more, the lowkey 90s time capsule of Walking and Talking or the more ambitious ensemble project Lovely and Amazing? Do the serpentine plot and neo-noir thrills of Usual Suspects still reel you in?

Have a look at our recently revised viewing schedule for the remainder 2017. We’ll continue our discussion of Holofcener next episode by watching and discussing her three most recent films, 2006’s Friends With Money, 2011’s Please Give, and 2013’s Enough Said. And get ready for next month, when we’ll take a u-turn from Holofcener’s quiet adult dramas and run head-on into the intense, troubling work of German filmmaker Werner Herzog, beginning with 1972’s Aquirre, the Wrath of God and 1974’s The Enigma of Kasper Hauser.

If you’re looking for ways to contribute to the pod and help us continue to unfurl the Carpet with pride, head over to our pages on iTunes and Stitcher and throw us a rating and review–we’d really appreciate it.

Happy listening and happy viewing… stay rad!
